So many of these points resonate deeply with me because they mirror teachings from my faith in statements of the Prophet Muhammad (Allaah's Blessings and Peace be upon him).
Wisdom is truly the lost/found treasure of the believer.
We have been told to singularly focus on a thing from our childhood meaning if you be self discipline you need not care about how you feel, just wake up & show for what you want to work on which leads to chronic dissatisfaction and some kind of self hatred, self kindness sits in the boot space of the car. Either it is success or failure, who told it has to be Either Or, it can be BOTH AND as well. It is just that we need to re-frame things according to our own values and what we want out of our lives, we need not apply everything that gets feeded to our cognition by our immediate peers, family members or the environment around us. Everyone is living with tons of cognitive biases, we need to learn, unlearn & relearn n number of things.
I’m really enjoying your posts Brad! Excellent stuff - keep it up!
This felt like notes for another powerful book from you. Something like, “The Dichotomy of Excellence.”
